Celeb stylist Giannandrea Marongiu styled the locks of Naomi Watts for the 70th Annual Golden Globes.
Marongiu yearned to create a classic look for this screen star. As a result, the stylist drew inspiration from old Hollywood legends, such as Carole Lombard.
He created a faux, side-swept bob for Watts.
Describing the look as "a bit more modern than old-Hollywood," Marongiu gently brushed out her curls for an updated take on a classic style.
STEP 1: Starting with wet hair, spray Matrix Total Results Blonde Care Flash Filler (available in February 2013) evenly throughout the hair before blow drying. This enhances and brings out the blonde color.
STEP 2: Apply Matrix Total Results Amplify Foam Volumizer throughout the roots and partially down the length to create volume and all-night hold.
STEP 3: Use a medium round brush, blow dry the hair in sections to create soft fullness.
STEP 4: Create a deep side part.
STEP 5: Curl the hair using a 1/2 inch curling iron. Gently spray Matrix Total Results Amplify Hairspray on each section before curling. This gently and softly holds the curls while providing shine.
STEP 6: Gently brush out hair so waves are soft, feminine and modern.
STEP 7: Put Matrix Design Pulse Mega Dust on a boar bristle brush and brush through hair very gently in order to stretch the waves and give it texture.
STEP 8: Take a pea-sized amount of Biolage ExquisiteOil Replenishing Treatment and gently run your hands over the hair to tame flyaways and provide a subtle, weightless shine.
STEP 9: Tie rubber band halfway down the length and fold hair up and under in order to create a faux bob. Pin hair in place at the nape of the neck so pins don't show.
STEP 10: Shape the waves around the face in order to finish off this classic Hollywood look.
