The roar of the crowd on opening night, two days of intense workshops, parties and more parties, a rock-fest by One Republic, a shopping area the size of Macy’s—well, almost— were just a few of the happenings that Redken packed into three days of nonstop activities at its recently held, bi-annual Redken Symposium.
Designed to inspire, entertain and educate, the Symposium also featured 20 classes ranging from “Blonde Nation” by Adam Browne and Scott Sueper and “Whirl, Swirl, Twist, Turn” by Jill Leitz and Ryan Morgan, to “Get Smart” by Peter Mahoney and “Boom Goes the Dynamite” by Michael Cole. Three “extra credit” classes were also held, including a delightful “I Am Your Client” presentation by Ann Mincey.
New releases were also showcased: Steam Infusion (July 2013), a breakthrough straightening and conditioning iron, which releases a continuous vapor from root to tip and provides a perfectly sleek result in just one pass; Diamond Oil Haircare line (May 2013) that’s light, effective and has fine perfume-quality packaging; and the Redken Journal (launched at the event), which now features a digital workbook experience for stylists, including sketching, note-taking and email capabilities.
No longer taking a silent seat at Redken’s bi-annual Symposiums, Pureology also presented its Expressions and Expertise collection, had dedicated classroom space and shared more information about the recently released Reviving Red haircare products for red and copper color-treated locks.
