NYFW Fall '13 report! Channeling the mood for the Kimberly Ovitz Fall/Winter 2013 show-a concept regarding the human psyche and innate defenses found in animals and insects-Aveda Global Creative Director Antoinette Beenders creates what she describes as a "shield of armor" with smooth textures, shiny finishes and a veil of protection.
Ovitz's Fall/Winter fashion collection flaunted a range of edgy looks that boasted a cool downtown aesthetic.
A bit rugged and masculine-inspired, Ovitz wowed with a palette of black and gray with splashes of cranberry and azure blue.
Dotted among the solids were dramatic radial prints that echoed the colors and patterns of bugs...yes, you read that right…which use their dazzling armor as defense mechanisms against would-be predators.
Creepy-crawlies were more directly referenced in the jewelry, which was designed by Ovitz and produced by Shapeways.
All baubles-including affordably priced ear cuffs, rings and necklaces-are now available on KimberlyOvitz.com.
