Led by facial mapping expert Dr. Chris Solomon, a study was recently conducted by the University of Westminster in the U.K, that mapped out features—including hair—that are globally associated with success and leadership in the workplace. Rising to the top of the corporate ladder: smooth-styled brunettes.
Gentlemen may also not prefer blondes as much as once believed (sorry, Marilyn!). In fact, the study suggests that men actually prefer brunettes. Testing methods included have a light-skinned woman go to different nightclubs with her hair dyed brunette, blonde or red. (Her hair was done professionally to ensure that she looked her absolute best in each of these colors.) She was approached the most as a blonde, second as a brunette and least as a redhead. However, when the woman’s pictures were shown to the men at these same clubs, the majority said they found the brunette most attractive, intelligent and dependable; the redhead more temperamental; and the blonde needy and least intelligent.
We know there are millions of exceptions to these findings, but don’t you find the info fascinating anyway? For those of you who do, here’s one more haircolor tidbit: Rail-thin blondes can definitely get a man’s heart pumping, but when it comes to brunettes, it’s her curves that count most!
