1. Separate the parietal and top ar-eas with a crescent-shaped parting that extends past the crown area.
2. Taking vertical partings, cut the entire occipital area at a 90° angle.
3. Moving to the temporal and lateral areas, and holding the hair at a 90° angle, cut both sides of the head.
4. Slightly taper the temple areas using a scissor-over-comb tech-nique.
5. Unpin the parietal and top sec-tion. Take a parting from ear-to-ear and separate the hair into frontand back sections.
6. To create a longer top, comb the hair from the crown area down to the parietal region. Taking vertical sections, cut the hair parallel tothe scalp, following the curvatureof the head.
7. Create a disconnected shape by combing all uncut top hair to one side (based on the natural part), holding the section 30° away from the scalp and point-cutting the ends.
8. To fi nish the style, texture the ends at a 45° angle (shown)to create seamless blendingwith the back layers.
