Star Blazing


Judged on concept, overall approach, technical merit, and execution and suitability of styles, winners of this year’s Cosmetologists Chicago STARS and RISING Stars Photo Competitions were decided by an illustrious panel of judges—Luis Alvarez, Aquage; Ginger Boyle, Planet Salon; and Joan Harrison, Canadian Hairdresser—led by Karen Gordon of J. Gordon Designs.

Sweeping the event with three category wins—Makeover Expert, ColorAmerica—Colorist of the Year and Texture Champion— Chrystofer Benson, J Christopher Salon in New York City and Matrix Artistic Director, was awarded the prestigious Leo Passage Gold Trophy.

Permanently displayed in Pivot Point’s world headquarters and Academy in Evanston, Illinois, Benson received a replica trophy and $2,500 in cash prizes! (AmericasBeautyShow.com)
