Salon Daniel Styles Hair to Help Autism Society of Northern Virginia

Salon Daniel of McLean, Va. styled more than 15 runway models' hair for the recent Arts for Autism Gala fundraiser in Arlington, Va., which collected $58,000 to support the Autism Society of Northe Virginia. Paola Quiroz, executive director for Arts for Autism and coordinator of the gala, was inspired by her 12-year-old nephew who has Asperger's syndrome. The inaugural event was a combined talent show and runway show of children, adolescents, and adults with autism and an adult fashion runway show. Arts for Autism will be an annual event due to the huge success of this first event in with a sold out show.
Salon Daniel staff was the exclusive hair salon to style hair for the adult runway models for the gala. The Salon Daniel staff volunteered their time and offered services for the runway models. For the pre-events leading up to the gala, Salon Daniel donated a $400 gift certificate for a 'day of beauty sales for the gala. Beyond the obvious monetary aid, their staff went to all 8 pre-event s to support Arts for Autism.
The public can help by supporting their local autism society chapters and by supporting Arts for Autism as they strive to give $1,000 grants directly to the families to help them help their children.
About eight Salon Daniel stylists committed to working on the model's hair for the gala. The stylists chose a mixture of styles and up-dos for the show. Hairspray was a key component for all styles.
