The Friends and Helpers Holiday Event, which was held December 2 at Wilbur Charter for Enriched Academics in Tarzana Calif., was a huge success and spread lots of smiles and cheer.
Approximately 100 people showed up on a mission to wrap donated gifts, assemble beauty bags and stuff stockings.
As a result of this goodwill effort, 350 families were adopted for Christmas 2012.
In addition, thousands of stockings will be gifted to people who are living in shelters and hundreds of toys will be distributed to children in need.
On the beauty front, approximately 1,000 beauty gift bags will be distributed to women in need.
Marie Ferro of Marie's Hair Studio Malibu, in Malibu, Calif., managed the women's beauty bags campaign. Any beauty company interested in donating product to the cause can contact www.friendsandhelpers.org.
The companies with heart, which graciously donated product for the fundraising raffle and beauty bags, include Malibu Wellness, OPI, Paul Mitchell, Colorproof, Goldwell/KMS, Phyto, Attar perfume and The Body Shop.
