High above New York City's posh Fifth Avenue is Loft-a chic event space, which was the recent setting of Sebastian Professional's all-star shine event. Editors and other industry insiders gathered for an evening of cocktails, nibbles and, of course, lots of shine!
Via Sebastian Professional's newly amplified Flaunt Line of shine products, stylists can inspire their clients to dial up the shine! "Shine is one of the most-demanded benefits from my clients," says Janine Jarman, owner of Los Angeles-based Hairroin salon. Through cocktailing Sebastian's various shine services and newly amplified products, shine can be taken to new heights. Four categories were identified, including dry, wet, smooth and textured shine looks.
Despite the many shine products on the market, stylists have yet-until now-been able to experience a full spectrum of liquid tools that enable them to create multi-dimensional and versatile shine effects with in-salon services, and at home care and styling "liquid tools." Sebastian professionals explain that the shine process truly begins in the salon with its in-salon Cellophanes Service. Clients can now easily follow up at home with "liquid tools," which include Trilliance Shampoo and Conditioner, and Shine Crafter moldable wax. The moldable wax and reformulated stylers-Shine Define and Trilliant are now infused with rock crystal extract. The collection is available in August at Sebastian salons nationwide.
At the launch, a line-up of special guests was on hand to present their own unique variations of shine, among them stylists Janine Jarman, Thomas Dunkin and Anthony Cole. Each creative type presented their own hair and fashion look inspired by a different fabric and its unique ability to shine. From silk to leather and beyond, each stylist sent out his or her model decked out in a sleek, shine inspired look. In an effort to take shine to an entirely new level, glitter queen Kerin Rose, founder of a-morir crystal embellished eyewear, was there to debut her cool interpretation of latex. She inspired attendees to up their own glam factor by gifting them with bedazzling kits, which included glue, rhinestones and more.
