Excitement mounted at the NAHA Award ceremonies - the equivalent of the Academy Awards for beauty pros - as envelopes were opened and winners were announced in front of 38,000 attendees and viewers at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. One breathtaking collection after another popped onto overhead screens as finalists held their breath and everyone silently rooted for their favorite artists.
In true beauty style, the event was filled with pomp and circumstance, which included outstanding show presentations by NAHA finalists, NAHA 2010 Hairstylist of the Year Tony Ricci and Proctor & Gamble. HairDesignerTV.com brought the NAHA Awards ceremony to the world via free, live streaming.
Special awards were meted out to Stan Klet Sr., who was inducted into the PBA Hall of Leaders, and Michael O’Rourke, the recipient of the coveted Lifetime Achievement award. Las Vegas headliner Holly Madison - who wowed the audience with her speech about the importance of hairstylists everywhere - was given the Beautiful Humanitarian Award for her work as an animal rights advocate.
