Best Actress nominee Charlize Theron was a vision on the Golden Globes Red Carpet. The beauty donned a spectacular pale pink Dior Gown. Of course, a stunning hair look was designed by master stylist Enzo Angileri to accent her look. "I made the most of Charlize's natural waves and created the style around her texture. The design itself is modern, asymmetrical, and just a little messy," says Angileri. Theron accented her glamorous look with a dramatic Cartier diamond headband.
Angileri explains that when a client is wearing such a significant piece of jewelry, it can become too much-almost old-fashioned if she has slick, over-styled hair. As a result, he created an updo that fused bohemian and romantic with casual for a style that shined enough for Red Carpet festivities.
Theron's hair was already dry and naturally waved, so Angileri first curled small sections with a 2" curling iron to enhance the volume and texture. "I used the larger iron because I didn't want to curl her hair, but to refine the natural wave. This helped create an effortless transition from Theron's natural look to the Red Carpet." When the star stylist was finished, he lightly misted the curled sections with Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray. After a few minutes, Angileri completely brushed through Theron's hair with a Moroccanoil Ionic Ceramic Paddle brush to eliminate any trace of separation, for a romantic, soft texture.
"Next, I swept the hair to the left and made three sections. I pulled and rolled the first two into a loose bun and pinned them, working with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray throughout the process to control and hold hair in place," reveals Angileri. "I then released and wrapped the last section under and around the bun, and pinned it. Finally, I adjusted and freed strands from the bun, so it looked even more unstructured, messy, and a bit wispy."
Finally, Angileri sprayed Theron's hair with Moroccanoil Frizz Control-the key product to achieving this look and enabling it to photograph so well. The anti-frizz product eliminated the flyways and provided more control. The grand finale: Angileri then placed the glimmering Cartier diamond headband onto Theron's head.
