Paula Abdul Wows at Fox All-Star Party

To achieve her rock star, red carpet curls, first shampoo and lightly condition the hair at the ends only. Next, prep hair with a volumizing leave-in spray or foam.

To begin styling, Marcia used a large round brush to form the wave foundation. Special attention was paid to the scalp area creating volume and lift at the root area. Marcia prefers to dry each section thoroughly then place the large round brush at the scalp area lifting the roots to an almost 90 degree angle followed by a shot of hot air for a few seconds. Next, hit the dryer's cool button to lock in this lift. Once dry, she took medium sized sections and wrapped them around a 1 1/2" curling iron in a spiral formation to create a more defined wave pattern. Hold each division for a few seconds, then release and clip each section working from the bottom to the top.

For the fringe area, do not pin. Simply roll hair back with the iron and let fall into place. Next, she applied IT&LY Hairfashion Pure Water Drops to her hands running fingers through the curls to create luscious shiny waves. To finish, spray with White Sands Infinity Hairspray for a long lasting and flexible hold.

For additional lift or volume turn your head upside down and shake. Throw your head back and allow waves to fall naturally. Use additional hairspray to maintain the curls.
