Farouk Shami and John McCall Appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry

Immediate release-Farouk Shami, hairdresser, entrepreneur, philanthropist, founder and chairman of Houston-based Farouk Systems; and business partner John McCall, businessman, philanthropist, co-founder and vice chairman of Farouk Systems, have been appointed to the 2011 Inaugural Committee by Texas Goveor Rick Perry.

The appointed committee will be chaired by Ida Louise Steen of San Antonio. Patty Huffines of Austin and Lana Andrews of Dallas have also been named as vice chairs. The committee arranges ceremonies around the inauguration of the goveor and lieutenant goveor and raises private donations to cover expenses.

"It's an honor to be appointed along with some of the most notable Texans," says Shami. "John and I started Farouk Systems 25 years ago and this appointment is our latest achievement in serving the great state of Texas."
