Matrix COLORINSIDER Reds: Spectrum Lights
Ensure the most beautiful COLORINSIDER reds imaginable, thanks to this tutorial from Matrix!
Sectioning:
• Create an off-centered V-shaped section on the top/crown region as shown. Clip and secure, this is section 3.
• Take a vertical parting from the point of the V-shaped section to the occipital region. Next, starting at the base of your vertical section, take a horizontal section from ear to ear. Clip and secure the hair on both the right and left sides; these are sections 1 and 2.
Color Technique:
Step 1. Starting at the hairline in section 1, take a fine diagonal slice and apply FORMULA A from scalp to ends. Next, leave a 1.5 cm sub-section in between next foil.
Step 2. Take another slice and apply FORMULA B from scalp to ends. Continue working in the same manner, alternating between Formula A and B. Complete entire section; repeat in section 2.
Step 3. Release section 3. Beginning over the left eye, take a diagonal slice and apply FORMULA B from scalp to ends. Take another slice directly behind the first and apply FORMULA B. Next, take a slice and apply FORMULA A from scalp to ends. Place foils back-to-back, repeating steps until section complete.
INSIDER TIP: Placing foils back to back will create more of a dimensional look.
Step 4. Apply FORMULA C to all remaining hair and process for 35 minutes. Rinse thoroughly, shampoo and condition.
