Emmy Awards How-To: Kim Dickens
Kim Dickens' soft and glamorous waves were inspired by the golden age of film -- but even us 21st century gals can figure out the look, thanks to Oribe stylist Christopher Naselli! Read on to learn how.

For actress Kim Dickens, best known for her role in HBO series Treme, Oribe hairstylist Christopher Naselli achieved soft and beautiful waves inspired by legendary film actress Mary Carlisle. Here's how!

How-To:

Step 1. Prep damp hair with Oribe Foundation Mist and apply a quarter-size amount of Grandiose Hair Plumping Mousse from the roots to the mid-lengths.

Step 2. Blow-dry hair with a medium-size boar bristle round brush.

Step 3. Create a deep side part and begin curling the hair from front to back with a one-inch curling iron and Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray.

Step 4. Wrap small sections of the hair from the roots to the ends and set each section into pin curls behind each ear, letting it set while lightly misting with Impermeable Anti-Humidity Spray.

Step 5. Let waves cool and use a small Mason Pearson brush to sculpt waves into a soft S-shape, tucking one side behind the ear.

Step 6. Finish the look with a dime-size amount of Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil to tame flyaways and add high-gloss shine.
